Lets dispel a myth (or several) right at the outset. The food we eat does not, I repeat DOES NOT, contain all the nutrients we need to function properly. Despite what many qualified ‘Nutritionists’ (and I apologise for offending you if you are one) will tell you it is not possible to get the nutrition we require from simply eating the food that is available/affordable today – a balanced diet is a good aim but it is not the solution to the problem. Just one example – 20 years ago you could have got the vitamin C you need daily from eating 2 ripe peaches – today you’d have to eat over 50 peaches.
The other problem is that the toxins in the food we eat cannot be ignored. The more food we eat the more toxins we get – organic self grown is best but it will still have trace chemicals from the atmosphere. So if you eat 50 peaches to get the vitamin C you need you’ll also get a hefty amount of chemicals you don’t want.
